Hooray!! I got the photos in!

Well, this was much harder work than Rhett

I rang my mum and midwife in the afternoon and said that I was going to have a baby tonight. No contractions, no show, no pain, but just *knew* I was going to go into labour. Kaede`'s head was well down and I felt like i was walking with a head between my legs Well I guess I was!!

I went into labour around 8pm and rang back mum and our midwife to make their journeys to Theodore. I laboured easily until about 4am, when things just didn't seem to be going anywhere. Labour was still disjointed and the contractions were not getting regular. I decided that I was tied and needed to sleep. I told my body to wake up when it was ready to get on with the job properly, and to stop F***ing me around. I woke up 2 hours later, had a shower, washed my hair and began contracting well.

I must have been in transition for while, because I said to Sonya, that I didn't feel like things were progressing again, like they had been. She sat with me and supported me through the agonising back pains. She made me have some contractions on the loo, which I just hated because it hurt so much!! I got back into the birth pool and said that I didn't want to do it anymore.. typical transition now in hindsight Then I felt down and felt Kaede`'s head!! What a relief!! Now I could get on and have a baby.

I think the photo's speak for themselves. But I have to admidt that catching your own baby is totally amazing, and I wanta do it again, and again and again........And to have Rhett there watching and telling me what was happening, totally awesome!

In the beginning hubby was so anti homebirth, now, he cannot imagine it any other way!!!

A vague summary of my labour, but all I have time for now

I love hearing about things like this. I'm currently challenging myself to try and get in touch with my body more - to know things rather than second guess. Its really inspiring to know that others have experiences like this

    Congratulations again.
