Have you had an opportunity to do your cast and how did you go?

I have a couple of questions...

does it matter what width the plaster bandages are? the ones i found on ebay range from 5cm wide to 15cm... would any widths make it easier/harder?

also... does glad wrap effect the final product much? like is it lumpy because of wrinkles in the glad wrap???

No it won't be lumpy, by the time you have all the layers on, it won't matter. I'd probably go with a variety of widths, from memory we cut them in half because they were too wide to handle easily...here are the instructions...make 3 different lengths (35, 25 and 15 cm)...the very narrow ones would take forever if they were all that width.

Don't have the water too hot, it makes them set too fast.

Just made my belly cast today (@38wks). Had a blast with the hubby doing it too.

We had brought plaster bandages from a medical supply shop (which I didn't even know existed in Darwin!) for $6ea. I brought 6 and that was the perfect amount.

I gladwrapped my stomach and oiled up my boobs as I found the glad wrap not really working on my top half. Plaster didn't stick or anything and as it dried I could feel it lift from my body so I knew it was ready.

Now... what else can I cast?? I want to do DH's butt, he won't let me
